Series Title: Choices
Weekly Sermon Detail
June 29 - You are what you worship, Part 1 July 6 - You are what you worship, Part 2
Isaiah 6:1-4, James 1:13, Psalm 19:7-9
Good choices come from a solid foundation. They are rooted in our understanding of God. The temptation is to make for ourselves a god that is comfortable to us and agrees with us all the time. That is a recipe for moral drift. In this sermon we will learn to worship God for who he is. We will explore his moral attributes, integrity and love as our creator. Our goal is to understand who he has made us to be.
July 13 - K.I.S.S.
Micah 6:8
Sometimes moral and ethical decisions are difficult. When we feel overwhelmed we tend to go to one of two extremes. One extreme is to over think it and get ourselves all balled up in indecision. The other is to act too flippantly and not think it through enough. The Bible tells us of a time when God's people were in that second extreme. God's response is that what he is asking for is not that difficult. He has made it pretty simple. In this sermon we will apply God's K.I.S.S. principle (Keep It Simple and Sincere) to our moral and ethical decisions.
July 20 - Ben's in Honduras - Guest Speaker Bud Lynch
July 27 - Take Action
Ephesians 4:17-5:11; Romans 7:15-25
A coach can have a great game plan but someone has to put it into practice. God has a great game plan for you to handle moral and ethical decisions with a goodness that will build you up and establish you as a person of integrity. Are you going to put it into play? The secret to success comes from the spiritual life. God has made available the inner power and resources you need to execute his game plan and win the game. In this sermon we will learn how to connect with God's resources for moral and ethical integrity and explore how it is lived out in specific situations.
